ViroSafe Transport Media contains Hanks Balanced Salt Solution, proteins, antibiotics, amino acid and other components required for maintaining the viability of the viruses during transport. The Phenol red is added as the indicator for pH. The ViroSafe Transport Media also contains a cryo-protectant to preserve the specimens for prolonged storage at lower temperature.

The kit comprises of two sterile flocked specimen collection swabs. It contains short perpendicular nylon fiber strands attached to flexible molded plastic that results in efficient collection and release of particular matter.
